A 23:30 landing is often a next-day pickup
The aircraft still has to taxi, the passenger has to clear immigration and checked bags have to arrive. A delayed suitcase can add another hour. Book with the flight number and arrival date; the vehicle moves toward the pickup point when everyone and every bag is ready.

The overnight route must be confirmed for the actual vehicle
Shenzhen Bay passenger and private-car clearance is not a 24-hour service. Late-night journeys may use an appropriate 24-hour control point, but that depends on the assigned vehicle, permits, direction and Shenzhen destination. “We can cross at night” is not enough—ask which checkpoint is planned for this booking.

The published early-hour surcharge is RMB 100
Pickups from 00:00 to 06:59 add RMB 100 to the applicable route fare. A late arrival can therefore move the trip into the surcharge window even when the scheduled landing was before midnight. The quote should also state included waiting, overtime, cancellation and what happens if the arrival date changes.

Who gains the most from a late-night private car?
For a solo traveller with one bag and a hotel beside a night transport hub, an airport hotel or morning onward journey may cost less. A pre-booked car is easier to justify for a family, several suitcases, a first-time visitor, an older passenger or a Shenzhen address far from overnight public transport. The benefit is a confirmed door-to-door plan after options narrow—not a guarantee that the border queue will be short.

Confirm the destination can receive you after midnight
Ask the hotel or residential contact to confirm the late-arrival entrance. Keep a reachable passenger phone and a backup contact who will be awake. Notify the coordinator of a changed date, diversion or cancellation and obtain revised arrangements; do not assume unlimited waiting or automatic free cancellation.
- Save the destination in Chinese and the meeting method offline.
- Carry medication, child essentials, chargers and a warm layer in cabin luggage.
- Discuss any boarding or walking assistance before vehicle assignment, not for the first time at inspection.
