Guangzhou Airport to Canton Fair: Metro, Taxi or Private Car?

• Travelling light: compare rail from your actual terminal, including changes and the walk at the destination.
• Several people with cases: compare the whole group's cost and confirm that one vehicle can carry everything.
• Arriving late: check the complete rail connection after arrival formalities, not just the first train's advertised closing time.
• Hotel before the fair: quote and navigate to the hotel first; do not use a generic exhibition destination.
• Pre-booking a pickup: send the flight number, arrival date and time, passengers, luggage and final address. Agree on delay and waiting arrangements.

This is an airport-arrival guide, not a promise that one mode is fastest. A morning arrival with one cabin bag and an evening arrival with product samples need different plans.

A Baiyun Airport notice dated 6 May 2026 announced the transfer of 11 T1 domestic airlines to T3 from 7 May. This is a dated relocation notice, not a live terminal assignment for your flight. Check with your airline before choosing a meeting point.

The operator's transport system map identifies Airport North Metro station with T2 and Baiyun Airport East intercity station with T3. These are different transport options; an intercity station is not automatically a Metro platform. The airport's bus guide also lists the Gaozeng Metro–T3 bus connection. Check the selected service and onward access rather than assuming every train reaches your exhibition entrance.

Use the terminal shown by your airline and current airport instructions. If a saved guide sends you to T1 or Airport South, recheck it before travelling. Terminal assignments and transport arrangements can change; a screenshot from an earlier fair is not a booking confirmation.

If colleagues arrive on separate flights, collect all flight details before selecting one meeting point. Do not ask somebody to change terminals simply because a previous driver met you elsewhere. Decide whether to combine the group after arrival or arrange separate transfers based on actual arrival times and luggage.

Rail avoids some road exposure, but its running time is not the total trip. Road transport removes some changes, but it does not remove congestion or exhibition access controls. Compare from the arrivals hall to the destination where you actually need to be.

First decide whether you want the hotel, a registration location or a particular exhibition area. Those are not interchangeable. Keep the destination name and address available offline so you can show it to airport or station staff if needed.

Then check the operator journey planner for your terminal and travel date. Guangzhou Metro's combined Metro and intercity planner announcement explains how to find it in the Guangdong Intercity WeChat account, and warns that actual train information can differ with operating conditions. Include the airport connection, any changes and the final walk. Do not treat a train toward Pazhou as proof that its exit is the correct entrance for your appointment.

If you are considering the last usable connection of the evening, check the whole itinerary. A first train can still be running while a later connection is no longer practical. An advertised flight arrival also comes before immigration, baggage collection and your walk to transport.

Rail is worth comparing for a solo buyer with a manageable case and a flexible arrival schedule. It becomes less convenient if everyone is carrying rigid samples, mobility equipment or several large cases. Count the transfers you can realistically manage, not only the fare.

This guide deliberately does not publish a permanent Metro closing time or a step-by-step interchange chain that has not been revalidated for your travel date. Use the current Guangzhou Metro information for the operating journey, and confirm the fair entrance with the organiser.

Follow terminal signs or ask airport staff for the taxi queue. Do not assume a pickup bay from an old T3 article is still the location you should use. Taxi, ride-hailing and pre-booked meeting instructions should not be treated as the same arrangement.

Show the full destination before departure. For a hotel, keep the branch name and address together: a familiar international hotel brand alone may not identify the building. For the fair, specify the intended area or meeting location and follow any traffic restrictions on the day.

Before loading, check that all passengers and luggage fit. If the team needs more than one vehicle, agree on the common destination and keep a contact in each car. Avoid splitting the group without sharing the address and a way to regroup.

We have not verified a current taxi fare for every terminal-to-fair itinerary, so this article does not offer a fixed taxi price. Obtain the applicable fare information through the official airport taxi process. Keep the trip receipt for expenses and follow-up.

A booking should make the next action clear. Ask where to meet, how to contact the coordinator, what information to send once you have collected your bags, and what happens if the flight changes. “Airport pickup” alone does not answer these questions.

Waiting conditions need explicit agreement. Do not assume that a flight delay means unlimited waiting at no additional cost, or that an earlier flight arrival automatically changes the reserved pickup. Send changed flight information and obtain an updated confirmation.

The website's languages do not guarantee a driver who speaks your own language. Our stated service languages are English, Cantonese and Mandarin; if direct English conversation with the driver is important, ask about that arrangement before booking. Business interpretation is a separate requirement.

The seven seats in a Toyota Alphard include the driver, leaving up to six passenger seats. That is a seating limit, not an airport loading guarantee. A team with display samples may need more space than a larger group travelling with small bags.

If everything cannot be carried safely, compare another vehicle before arrival. Do not plan to block an aisle or door, or hold a large case on a passenger's lap. Recheck the return transfer if you collect samples during the fair.

Go through the first few hours of the day, not just the drive. Can the hotel store bags before check-in? Have you confirmed the fair registration requirements? Is your first meeting tied to a specific area? Ask the relevant hotel or organiser rather than assuming a vehicle booking resolves these points.

For a tired team arriving from a long flight, a hotel-first itinerary may be easier to manage. For a buyer carrying only a small bag with registration already arranged, going directly to the agreed meeting point may suit the plan. Neither is a universal recommendation.

The published transfer pricing page is a reference for listed routes, not a fixed airport-to-fair quote with unlimited stops. Request a written total for the actual itinerary and check what is included before comparing it with a taxi or rail plan.

1. Before flying, confirm the terminal, full destination and whether the first stop is the hotel or exhibition.
2. Keep the address, booking confirmation and contact method accessible without relying on a newly configured phone connection.
3. Complete arrival procedures and collect all luggage before estimating when the group can leave.
4. Follow the transport instructions for that terminal; for a booked car, contact the coordinator as agreed.
5. Confirm the address and passenger-and-luggage count before departure, then notify colleagues if the plan changes.

If a bag is delayed, tell the coordinator before leaving to speak with the airline. If the flight is diverted or cancelled, communicate the new plan rather than treating the original meeting as automatically transferable. Agree on the consequences before relying on a replacement journey.
